The Tell-Tale Heart Adaptation

This short film adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart centers around the police interrogation of nurse Raven Moreneveer as she struggles to explain the disappearance of her paralyzed patient, Annabel. I wrote, directed, and acted in this film as my final project for a Literary Adaptations class in the spring of 2021. Since the COVID-19 pandemic affected our ability to film together in close proximity, we incorporated masks into our costumes. Because the masks then hindered our sound quality, I incorporated audio recordings by the police into the interrogation and I instructed all the actors to re-record their lines over voice memos to use as our final audio — adding to the realism of the police interrogation.
